Elite five-star running back John Emery from Destrehan, LA announced Thursday afternoon that he has de-committed from Georgia and has reopened his recruitment.

The 5-11, 205-pound prospect from Destrehan HS is rated the No. 1 running back in the country, according to ESPN. The departure of Emery leaves Georgia with 16 verbal commitments for the class of 2019.

Not surprised. Most top Louisiana recruits want to play in the SEC West where it is easier for their family to come to the games.
