Per LSUSports.net: BATON ROUGE, La. -- LSU beats Nicholls 5-4 in the first game of a doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon.

The Tigers advance to 7-1 on the year and Nicholls drops to 2-5.

Devin Fontenot (1-0) recorded the win and the Colonels' Joe Taylor (0-2) was charged with the loss.
