Four-star LSU quarterback commit Myles Brennan sent out a Tweet on Tuesday night directed to four-star wide receiver Devonta Smith and four-star linebacker Willie Gay.

The message was simple: "Make history and be a Tiger..."

Smith, 6-1, 160-pound receiver from Amite, LA is a major target for the LSU coaching staff but many believe he is leaning towards Alabama.

Gay, a 6-2, 220-pound linebacker from Starkville, MS will likely decide between Mississippi State, LSU, and Ole Miss. He is the No. 3 outside linebacker in the country for the class of 2017.

I'd take Gay over Smith any day. We have receivers. We need linebackers. One step at a time. Not everyone wanted to go to Alabama until Saban started winning Championships. And so it will be with Coach O and the Tigers!

I can understand the attraction of playing for the Bama machine right now. I cannot understand why a LB would choose Moo St or Ole Miss over LSU. If a guy just wants to leave Louisiana or BR, fair enough. But at least go somewhere decent and not...Mississippi.

Gay lives in Starkville, is good friends with Leo Lewis and State has had success putting a few linebackers in the NFL recently. I can see the allure there, just wish some of our BR kids could see the same allure.

It's not good for any team that goes head to head in recruiting and a team that has carved such a footprint in your state to win regardless of what it does for the SEC brand. Alabama does very well as the expense of LSU and this has occurred as a result of them winning multiple titles.

All those top recruits are gonna wanna go somewhere else. What happens when your roster are stock full of 4-5 star players?? Half of those aren't even going to see the field in 2-3 years where they can't showcase their talent from the getgo.
