Longtime NFL Equipment Manager Dan Simmons Dies At 78

If tweet fails to load, click here. On Friday night, the New Orleans Saints announced that longtime equipment manager Dan Simmons passed away. He was 78 years old. Simmons, a Vietnam veteran, worked a total of 858 games for the Saints during his 42-year run with the franchise.quote:(The Spun)
"Our thoughts are with Elaine and the Simmons family as we have suffered a significant loss with the passing of Dan," Saints owner Gayle Benson said. "He played an integral role in the daily operations of the equipment room and locker room. Dan was a proud New Orleans Saint and touched the lives of thousands of players, coaches and staff members throughout his tenure, making significant contributions to this franchise. He will be greatly missed."
