Books like The Northman? Fiction or nonfiction

I’ve heard Children of Ash and Elm is a good nonfiction book about the history of the Vikings. The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cromwell looks interesting but it’s a huge series.
Any other recommendations?

The Last Kingdom series is great though. One of those that you can read over the course of a few years
