True. But not relevant to the point.
It’s 6 hours into the book before they hit the trail. But that’s not relevant either.
My point is that the brilliance of the book is not in the speed of the plot.

6 hours into the book? You measure how you read books in hours? Not trollin', legitimate question.
That aside...you are right...the brilliance is in the dialogue between characters. The television people did an incredible job translating the feel of the characters to screen.
Thank God this fell in the hands of the actors it did. It's just legendary in every aspect. Hell, even tard Pea Eye was legendary.

Audible.com
I listen in the car.
Consequently I have no idea what page I am on.

Gotcha, makes way more sense. I think I read it in less than a week. Couldn't put it down.
Fun fact: Larry McMurtry's son James, an accomplished singer/songwriter in his own rite, plays the small part of an outlaw trying to bushwack Roscoe in the film version.
His music is worth a listen if you've not heard him.

I can see that. I am a bit forced to pace because I only listen in the car.
I absolutely love this book. I will be ready to discuss when I am finished.
