I just completed the first volume and, damn, what a great story. Characters are top notch. Royce and Hadrian’s conversations are great. Really great action. The stories don’t drag, but they also aren’t too quick or vague. World building has been great.
Hoping to get some introduction to the elves soon. That is what Royce’s interaction at the end of the first volume seemed to imply.
The audiobooks are great. Tim Gerard Reynolds is definitely up on my list of great narrators.
Starting volume 2 now.

The original reason I bought them on Kindle.
Have you listened to the Red Rising books yet? He does an even better job (IMO) with those.

I wasn’t as big of a fan because of the Scottish-like accents.
That is partially my fault because I didn’t have that accent in my head when I read the book.

Just bought this in audible based off of your rec along with others.
Plus the narrator is really good.

Trust me, you’ll really enjoy it.
The characters are great and you just want more at the end of it.

These are some of my favorite books. Look into all of the other "prequels" Sullivan writes as well. They have some good stories and background info like the Crown Tower.

Started these based off comments on this board. Finishing up the second book now and I’m really enjoying it. It’s probably going to be one of my favorite series.

Did you start with The Crown Tower or Theft of Swords? I see the author suggests to start with Theft but The Crown Tower is chronologically first.
