So this popped up on X for me and I bought it on a whim, anyone else have familiarity with it?
Apparently it's an older story that bounced around on some reddit/online universe that I know nothing about, before the author got a deal with Penguin and rewrote it. So some people may know it from the precursor, but I'd never heard of it. Getting high end reviews.
I am not a sci fi/fantasy/whatever this is guy - but I do like to occasionally stick my foot into weird books/movies just because they're so novel to me.
This certainly fits the bill for weird. I'd describe it for you but I don't really know how. Recommended all the same.

This sounds like the book I just finished called The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect by Roger Williams.
