Anybody read the latest Vince Flynn - Total Power. Pretty good read but pretty scary stuff.

Obviously not going to spoil the ending but the plot is a guy taking down the US power grid. Apocalyptical stuff doesn't usually bother me but after going through the power outage/freeze in Texas this year and learning how fragile the US grid is, this one made me uncomfortable.

Worth your time if you have it.

Interesting they still have Vince Flynn predominately on the cover since he died quite a few years ago and Kyle mills wrote the last 5 or so books.

It is kind of interesting. Did Flynn actually write any of this? I'm assuming to credit him he had to of had some manuscript work done for these books that Mills is just fleshing out or finishing.

I thought for the first one that Mills wrote flynn had done a good bit of writing on, but that was close to 10 years ago. unless he was like tupac, I doubt he had much material for the 6th book after his death.

Well, Tom Clancy does keep making video games, so I guess it’s like that.

Loves this book. And quite scary.

Flynn gets the credit the way he does because his estate still owns the character copyright. Basically, Mills is a hired hand. I do like how Mills is handling the series. He’s doing a great job.

Same as James Bond will always be Ian Fleming.

Total Power was solid, Mills has carried the torch but the entire Mitch Rapp universe is a bit soft compared to the glory days of killing corrupt politicians and torturing the frick out of Saudi jihadis. I'm afraid Mills will destroy the series by the time he finishes his new 3 book deal.

If you liked Total Power you should check out One Second After.

If you liked arse kicking no bullshite Mitch Rapp from the Flynn days you should start the Jack Carr series beginning with The Terminal List.

I'm in TX and I've read it. I have all of the Rapp novels.

I read it and I was thinking it was entirely plausible. Then I lived it for a couple of days. Glad it was winter; and it is some scary shite to think of that happening beyond a single state.
