Long must be a badass if his #7 target was someone who has lead his team to 3 consecutive Big 10 Titles and BCS Bowl games. Think about that before you make another stupid post and remove all doubt about your intellect………..or lack thereof.

Don't think Bielema is very familiar with recruiting
IMO he better get some good coordinators from or with SEC ties.
Overall I do think he is a good hire though.

When the lion's share of his staff bolted for Pitt there was bad blood between former UW coach (now AD) Barry Alvarez and BB of the salary pool for assistants,BB then fired his O-Line coach after the 1st game. Bielema got the frick outta Madison before he was run outta town, the dude is a grade A 1st rate jerk-off

The good news for Arkansas is that Wisconsin apparently does not want Bielema to coach the Rose Bowl, so CBB can hit the recruiting trail for the Hogs immediately.

All I know is, win or lose that dude always reminded me of Rob Riggle

I used to do a lot of work in OH and Minnesota. After the hire today I had some friends texting me, and that is exactly what was said.
Not excited about this hire.

What was Long selling that I don't see?
lets watch the buy out. that is the kicker. if he fails and gets 11 to 20 mil then it's a no brainer. that's the hidden money. get a raise and if you fail, set up for life. chiz is prime example, not much more money in the raise but 11 million in buy out.

Did the admins at Wisconsin not try to put a package to keep him?

He shouldn't have gotten a raise at all. He was looking for an escape from the shadow of Meyer.

Brent Pease / Will Muschamp made Mark Stoops quit. Quit so hard he was willing to go to UK to GTFO of there.

I have to admit that I had no idea that Bielema was even being considered. I'm more surprised at this point than disappointed. I guess if he can get us back winning ballgames, I'll be pleased with the hire. Jeff Long's now in good standing with me and off my shite list (like he gives a damn

He does remind me of Rob Riggle.
I figure we are going to set BB up to pay top notch to get whatever assistants he needs.
And I've been to a lot of CFB stadiums. DWRRS is not "underwhelming". Its not large by SEC standards, but it seats 76k, and its as nice and slick and new as anyplace anywhere. And its about to get bigger/nicer.

Either way, great hire for Arkansas. I think he will be a solid coach that will always keep Arkansas competitive, but Arky fans are going to have to be realistic and be happy with 8-10 wins most years.
I agree with all of this. Anyone trying to find a way to spin this as a bad hire is retarded or trolling.
And on a side note, it's nice to see that karma paid Long some dividends for making the difficult-but-ethical decision to fire Petrino's dumb arse.
