I got flamed for suggesting that SW sabotaged O's hires to run him off early to get his man Petersen in. If Woodward did, I fully support it. It's business.
We all know Ed was not Woodward's guy and he was only hired because of Alleva's incompetence. Woodward had to get rid of a homegrown, Natty winning coach of the year, quick. He was successful and now is in a position to move his guy, whomever it is, right on in and two years after a Natty, we applaud it. Pretty good job of reading Ed and maneuvering accordingly if you ask me. It's been a tough two years, but SW is looking at the decade to follow.
