They're an old and storied program. It means something to them to have one of their own at the helm that understands the tradition, has a connection to the school and "belongs".
It's just a Michigan thing, you know, like the A&M "Squeeze Army", just a little less off-putting.

The other plane (the one in UM livery) may or may not have been leased by a BR family to go to Savannah to investigate damage to a house there. Or something. That doesn't explain why it was in Thomasville though.

The "Michigan Man" deal is a misinterpretation of something Bo said when out basketball coach left b4 the NCAA torney in 1989.It doesn't mean he has to literally be a former Michigan asst coach or player but that Michigan is his "final job." WE don't want to be like say Mich St.,who gets a coach (Saban) and he leaves for greener pastures.WE believe our pasture is as green as it gets.LSU should feel the same way IMO

if i leased a private jet the weekend Michigan was looking at our coach and walked out on the tarmac of LA Air and i saw that Michigan shite I would tell them to find me another plane or spray paint some purple and gold on it!!! What are the odds....

Joe in BTR needs to get from BTR-SAV on 1/9.
Steve in HPN needs to get from HPN-SAV on 1/10 morning.
Joe needs to get from SAV-BTR on 1/10 in the afternoon.
Delta Jets is going to use that same plane.
