Same SALARY as Petrino. Arkansas has a scale for state employees and both are at the limit. Actually, "all-in" the deal is $4 million over 5 years.

Because you obviously don't. Did you know sabans base salary is 225k? Every coachs base is minimal.

The rest is subsidized by Athletic foundation monies. Big jump to assume TV/radio Camps and appearances are going to multiply his annual compensation by nearly 500%. I really think Gus and Kristi felt trapped and got out using whatever means/opportunity available.

It's a dead end job for him. Step backward from his present job. A few decent years at Auburn and his stock would have returned to somewhat respectable again.

IMHO, this was a way to get out before there was turnover in Auburn.

The booster who runs the program, Bobby Lowder, has a history of walking into the coach's office and demanding a complete turnover of all the assistant coaches after a bad season or two.

Do any of you realize that Les Miles' salary paid by the state is like 400K at the most? Yet he makes IDK what...yeah...to think the state of Arkansas is paying Malzahn $160K is pretty much par for the course...idiots

Yep, sure he wasn't just looking for 800k and a head coaching job
