Or he could simply provide the 3rd letter of his last name. Since it's a name he said no one would ever guess, that would be a very safe way of validating his claim later without in any way risking giving the name away.

No he didn't. He reiterated what hanigriff said and told everyone they would never guess it. Every dc and some DL coaches from the nfl have been guessed and current DCs in the national championship have been guessed. Let's not even forget Elkes, smart, grantham, Pruitt, mushamp, Jesus, Santa, Tom Landry, and Billichek (but I think I already said Jesus). He's doesn't know shite because there isn't a name that hasn't been mentioned.

You didn't miss anything much, its a coach still involved the playoffs, college or pro whose resume is more important to you than the name. Most here probably could have guessed that part correctly.
