Has U-La-La hired a HC yet? I heard early on that he may be "allowed" to take that job.

I'm not convinced it's the other teams knowing his tendencies that have caused our O to derail. Although not an SEC team tOSU traditionally is among the better D's. They had over a month to prepare for us before the '07 SECCG - pleanty long enough to stidy GC's tendencies and he still toyed with them. Similiarly, apart from the OM game, our O played ok in '08. Teams had time to study his tendencies before the '08 season.

Somehow, the explanation lies beyond GC's tendencies.

Everything LSU has done the past 2+ years is depicted in that article.

He has no skilled QB, give him one and pretty much leave him alone and we will be unbeatable

Give anyone a skilled qb and they probably would be good. He has been given qbs, it's his job to make good ones out of them....

that offense was a mix of crowton's offense and jimbo's offense

first year we transitioned to more of crowton's offense and less of jimbo's

in 09 and 10 we got to see gary's offense more and more, and we didn't exactly perform well

yes, but most coaches know how to change things up in playcalling/scheming to diffuse the study on the offense

crowton has failed at this

I don't buy this. And let me say I'm not a GC apologist, but it's not all on him. Has he called some bonehead plays at crucial times? Yes. But there are plenty of simple offensive schemes and philosophies that rely on great execution, period. Les wants to have a good running game and smashmouth offense. That doesn't require genius play-calling or strange formations. It requires guys to be coached up and to beat the guy in front of you. Good teams can execute offensively even when the defense knows what's coming. So quit acting like Crowton gets out studied or outschemed. Our offense needs to be tweaked, but we need to execute better at every position. No position is exempt.

Seriously, how many QB coaches are capable of making a QB worse? The longer Jefferson was at LSU, the worse he got. And with Lee, things started going downhill fast post-Florida.

he does. The players can only do so much eventually the coaches get out schemed.

I swear it looks like Crowton doesn't even watch film on opponents.

yet Crowton uses strange formations and plays and fails miserably.

As bad as they are this is a ridiculous statement Jefferson has improved and Lee isnt throwing a pic 6 every other pass so they have improved

Adam

Cutting up each sentence and replying to it is so fricking tired.

If Crowton doesn't have a QB who has learned the plays or system, or loses his head when it comes time to make a read, it doesn't matter what the frick he calls, or how creative he becomes.

people believing this is amazing.

ask yourself one question. If they ran a mix of jimbo's offense and g.c's offense and it was successful in 07. then ran g.c. offense and it wasn't successful, why wouldn't they just go back to the mix of jimbo's and g.c. offense?

play another qb.

basically, any excuse used to defend him is bogus. If you want to blame it all on Jefferson then go for it but isn't Crowton to blame for not developing him and not replacing him?

Jefferson has improved
while not taking near as many sacks as last year, JJ has thrown for nearly 1/2 the yardage as last year and more than 2 times the INTs as last year... that's not improvement..

Lee isnt throwing a pic 6 every other pass
yes, JL is not throwing as many INTs, but he's still throwing off his back foot, many times moving backward...

they have improved
maybe in some small areas, but overall they have gotten worse....

b/c jimbo is no longer here.... and if they are not going to run GC's offense, why in the world would you pay him to be the OC????

if they ran it in 07, why did you pay g.c. to be the o.c.? why push jimbo out the door?

if they ran it in 07, why did they forget it since jimbo wasn't here?

if you know his play book and know how and when to call the play that works, then why not go back to it?

this logic makes no sense. plays are plays. if you know the play that will work in a situation and you know when to call that play, what difference does it make if it's a g.c. play or jimbo play? my point, if crowton ran a jimbo offense in 07, he obviously knew when and what play to call. i guess he just forgot.

coaches steal plays all the time. crowton got the pistol from the coach at nevada. the zone read from fran.

look at the wildcat, coaches from the n.f.l. and colleges all accross america stole that.

i just can't believe people come up with the jimbo offense in 07. that has to be the silliest thing i've heard.
