we won 2 SEC titles and a national title when our program wasn't as stocked as it is now

what has gone wrong with miles?

keep in mind that saban left when all of this talent were freshmen...get the point?

what down seasons are you talking about, btw? oh wait, you mean his first season, when everyone gets a pass.

or his 3rd season when his starting QB goes down, and we're basically screwed with a mediocre QB.

or his 5th season when 10-3 was still considered a great year.

omg i don't care how many of those seniors played for saban...thy were freshmen and didn't play barely and saban didnt mold them les did. its all about what you do w/ that talent. hester was a 3star back and les made him into a monster not saban

Jesus H. Christ. Saban came into this program when it was in the CRAPHOUSE. Craphouse to National Title is called BUILDING A PROGRAM. Miles took a monstrously talented team and kept it monstrously talented. That's really about it. And I'm also suggesting that the talent brought in by Miles is not as good as the talent that would have been brought in by Saban if he'd have stayed.

people forget saban had 1 fewer game a year to play

in today's game he would have had 3, 10 win seasons (2001, 2003, 2004) out of 4 to close out his time here

BUT LES DID NOT GET THEM THERE....THAT'S THE POINT.

you're talking about who set up this program to be consistent winners, it was saban that got the talent here, not les.

wait, are we talking about evaluating and recruiting talent, or are we talking about developing talent. I KNOW you're not suggesting that Miles develops talent better than Saban did.

People also forget that Saban's first recruiting year got started late because our coaching search took so long. That was the year that we settled for Marcus Randall, which later resulted in the results that you saw in '04 and '02.

he's a solid north/south back

if we use scott/keiland we don't have close games to have to rely on hester to "win" them

you could argue that it's because of hester's ground and pound ability that these games are closer than they have any business being.
