I dont care what any of ya wanna say. That Katrina thing forged strong bonds with his players, I have no doubts.

The board acts like a bunch of maniac depressives...one minute ya luv em...next hate.

I am sure his lawyer was talking all along....that said Coach did his best to keep it all out of spotlight.

It isnt like he is standing on a podium running his mouth "I am the next UM coach" this morn.

I think folks should ne gratefull he leaves LSU in good shape.

IMO folks need to focus on enjoying game today :)

It was in good shape before he got here. All he had to do was hold on.

Gee... wonder why your outlook on this coach would happen to be so rosey.

I think les did a great job for 3 years. I do still blame him for haveing a 21 point lead and then letting our own 4th string QB beat us.

I agree totally. He kept LSU in THE national spotlight and overcame a lot.

However, I think maybe he should be pulled off the sideline in favor of Crowton this afternoon in Atlanta. Time for Skip to grow a set with Michigan and Les for "waiting till after the weekend to talk."

Yeah, he won't ditch your arse 6 hours before the conference championship game, or ever for that matter. I really respected him before and wanted him to stay, but this stings.

I think he did a good job here - managing the program. We could have done worse...and yes, what he did during Katrina was incredible, but our team is certianly not the same team they were the first half of the season and we usually get better as the season goes on - makes people wonder what was really going on around here.

Dude, we know Les loves LSU and that this is probably a pretty damn hard decision for him to make. We're just a little tired of going through this shite every 3-4 years.

Well lets see...

I read Bo was up for 2 jobs...Les one...which has been his stated goal all along.

D looked bad against Mcfadden.

If you wanna roast em both fine...but I am sure one was spending a BIT more time tracking jobs vs someone who could just have his lawyer work on it.

I know folks are emotional. I am not trying to pick fighta. I truly believe Les cared about your team.

Les was the only coach in LSU history to never lose on a Sat. in Tiger Stadium.

I agree. At last weeks press conference I believe he was truely speaking from his heart when he said he loved this team. I believe that he really almost cried. Although I don't think that Katrina had that much to do with it... it was just a coach and a bond that he had with his team.

You can't pick and choose who you assign blame to. If anything, Les is more culpable considering he is the head manager of the football program.

You have to realize, for a good chunk of the fan base Les never stepped out of Saban's shadow until the Florida "Big Balls" game this year. They were just starting to really like him and now he leaves.

I am very happy for Michigan ATM. We have needed something like this for yrs.

Yet I am bummed for you guys. Can almost feel the emotion coming off typed words like it was alive.

I truly hope LSU gets that "right" person. Would be cooler if you could get a younger person like JDR so he can grow roots with ya guys.

First off you asswipe, we did not hire him to...form a strong bond with the players...we hired him to coach them. He NEVER should have been hired here. He could have stayed his arse in Okie and waited out Carr, and left our program alone.

Les has done everything he was supposed to do. He's going home and we shouldn't blame him for that.

Remember that he didn't break this news, ESPN did. It is what it is.

Today, LSU 38-Vols 14
