Miles was mandating welter play?

If Miles was mandating it: he's an idiot.

If Chavis was mandating it & Miles didn't override him: Miles is still an idiot.

How many current coaches have won a NC or even competed for one?

Honest question, is there anything that saban did that you didn't agree with? You act as though he left the lsu in perfect condition and everything he did was perfect.

Strange how you criticize people for supporting miles but saban is infallible to you.

oh yeah he used to sit on leads and after 2003 started reading his own hype re: blitzing, leaving the D kind of stale

where did i say that?

i never said saban is perfect. i'll put things in perspective regarding miles v. saban

we had a rebuilding year this year and lost 4 games, including an absolutely embarassing domination

saban had a rebuilding year this year, and he's got the #1 team, won the conference, is in the playoffs, and his RB-turned-QB had a better year this year than our super star QB did last year (with 2 NFL WRs and an NFL RB on the roster)

I wish all the crap about lee and jj would stop.... They were both average to below average that got to play on short field all year except on 1/9/11. Lee did look good at times. He choked at Bama and jj played better in game one .on 1/9/11 everyone messed up.... Coaches coaching players that thought it was unfair to play Bama again... To horrible gameplan and horrid execution buy the players. To no adjustments by the coaches... Yes lee should have gotten his chance that day but stop acting like he was a all american sitting behind a plug. neither of them were very good.

I do however agree with harris needing to play more. Kid has a lot of talent saw it up close and was wowed by his arm and the way he handle his high
School offense. Would love to see what he could do with more of a shot

And 2011?
Yeah, the NC game was a complete failure, but how many coaches even take their teams to the NC? Let alone beat the most ranked opponents in college football history?

Just a little insider information, only 3 teams in the SEC have coaches who have competed for an NC with their current school, and only 2 have won a NC.

Put Saban vs any coach right now, and Saban is better.
We don't have Saban, no coach we could get would be saban, get over it.

what do you mean by "competed for"? coached in the title game?

and the hiring of one of those guys basically invalidates a lot of your argument (b/c AU had to fire a coach who had actually won a title to hire gus mcamazing)

Hypothetical question:
Miles stays another 5 seasons and wins at most 10 games per year and at the least 8 games. Doesn't win a SEC title or make the playoff. How many would view this stretch as a success and how many would view it a failure? I'm honestly curious.

I don't think Miles should be or will be fired. But I'd be pleasantly surprised if he got LSU to a NC again.

Gus really brought it this year after that championship game collapse.

Well we did start Harris that game. You might not want to draw attention to that one of you think Harris is wasting on the bench

I'll believe it when Michigan hires a coach. Until then, whatever. Coaches lie all the time.

I wouldn't says success or failure. I'd say disappointing.
