I strongly believe this, which is why I am upset about this hire. It pisses me off to no end. But there's nothing I can do.
In all sriousness, none of us have any idea how successful he will be. He did a really good job at ASU and could very well turn into a really good coach. Only time will tell. It just Surprises me that Ole Miss didn't go after a little bit more of a proven coach. Maybe they did, who knows. All Ole Miss can do now is get behind there new coach and hope fr the best.

Exactly. I am extremely disappointed right now, but I hope he turns out to be great. Everybody has to start somewhere. When Johnny Vaught was hired hardly anyone knew who he was, and the rest is history. Like you said, we've got to be behind whoever it is, because the worst thing to have is a divided fan base.

If this is true, MSU better win next year while Hugh is stuck with nutts players, cause it will be awhile before they can do it again after he has a chance of getting his players online. Hell ASU would kick the bullfrogs arse this year.

fwiw.....we have some good talent on this team. Enough to win 6 fricking games anyways. The main problem is strength and conditioning and OLine coaching.

A good OLine coach should have us seeing improvements in the OLine next season.

Strength and Conditioning should take a little longer. Biggest problem with that is making someone work harder than ever after 2+ years of coached laziness in the weight room. I could see quite a few players leaving

Nafoom has been in meltdown mode today. They believed ole' Arch had a shot to bring in Tony Dungy. That's right his name kept coming up as a possibility over there. They at least thought Mike Leach was walking through the door. The rest of the sports world knew that even Larry Fedora wouldn't get involved in that cluster.

Hugh Freeze...wow!

Not gonna lie....I could see this as well.

But a lot of coaching changes are crapshoots.

I thought Ole Miss was hiring Rich Rod, Kirby Smart, Bill Cowher, or Tubbs?

Y'all were laughing at Fedora last week and now get Freezed.....

Hell if he can go 10-2 at that hell whole in J-boro...

I never did this.

And I can say with certainty that OM fans scoffing at Fedora did it because he was coaching at USM and they don't like the idea of getting a coach from such a "lesser" school. They don't look at it as USM going 10-2 and we went 2-10. They just say "we're better than you" to both them and MSU.

and while this holds true in most other aspects of life, on the field success doesn't show this.

I'm not saying it's a bad hire because a young hungry coach is good. However, is UM going to give him enough within their means, 25th highest revenue budget in the country, to hire the right assistant coaches?

Something about Dooley reminds me of Freeze. Both seem like stand up guys but the guys who are succeeding in this league have more of that arrogant/confident attitude. Especially in the west.

He's done well at Arkansas State building the program at 10-2.

I've yet to do or say any of this. I said in the beginning that I'd be kind of disappointed and questioned if he was ready.

And I can assure you that NO one is claiming him to be the man. Most of us are pissed and the others are just disappointed but will be supporting him fully.

The positives are that he loves ole miss and he has had success where he has been. Now if that translates to wins in the sec I'm not sure.
