"I want to make it clear that I'm not interested in any other coaching jobs, and am happy at the University of Louisville," Petrino said. "…
Hmmmm... That sounds vaguely familiar...

When Warrick Dunn calls you classless...you should take notice.

More importantly, here it is from a Arky alumnus:
(Quote from ESPN.com) Defensive end Jamaal Anderson, the Falcons' first-round pick from Arkansas, was asked what he would tell his alma mater about its new coach.
"One word: Disloyal," Anderson replied.

Jamaal should take some lessons on loyalty from a Mr. Dorsey, a man that was loyal to his school and didn't leave early.

Don't call out Jamaal... there was more to his comments. He was worried about what Petrino would do to OUR players -- and rightfully so.

Someone please explain why he would leave to go to Arkansas. Please!? I suspect if he put his name out there he could have been at the top of Michigan's list. I'm happy for the SEC, and he's a HUGE catch for them, but Arkansas' program/administration/fanbase is a complete mess right now. Their talent pool is pretty poor generally. Hell, I'd rather be at Louisville than Arkansas as a coach...
OK, I'll type slow so that you can understand
1) He wanted to coach in the SEC. In the press conference he made comments that he wanted to be in the SEC because it was the top conference. (he has tried before to land a job in the SEC)
2) He wanted out of Atlanta bad, and the opportunity presented itself with a chance to go to the SEC (see #1)
3) the mess at Arkansas is over. The fanbase was divided due to a large portion of it wanting Frank Broyles and Houston Nutt fired. When Broyles announced his retirement and Nut resigned the fanbase reunited.
4) Lots of big money boosters. Where Arkansas might be a small University in NW Arkansas, they have very deep pocket boosters such as the Waltons (Walmart), John Tyson(Tyson Chicken), Jerry Jones(Cowboys Owner), and etc...
5) Also Arkansas realizes the team is rebuilding and Petrino will have a couple of years to build the team before pressure will be put on him to compete for a championship.
6) Great Facilities
7) Might not have the greatest pool of instate talent, but Neither did Kentucky yet he was able to recruit at Louisiville
8) Fayetteville is a beautiful place to live and the cost of living is less than a city like Atlanta

For me, this was the most telling quote on the Petrino story today.
