Petrino is no doubt a great X's and O's guy. However, look at the snake-pit he left in Louisville. Their new coach has had to kick off or suspend more than 20 players in his first year. Petrino recruited any criminal and thug he could get.

Does Mallet fit into a Petrino offense? Also, how will a Petrino offense handle the pressure SEC defenses bring?

Little Rock is only about 4 from Shreveport...I would guess about 5 hours. If he can lock down Memphis (takes away a bit from OlePiss) Arkansas can be a power. They've been pretty solid over the years even with Nutt, Hatfield, Broyles, Ford and Holtz at the helm.

Well, I know Petrino likes to sling the ball all over the field, so seems like a guy with a huge arm like Mallett would love to get in his system. Ark. doesn't have the personnel to run his system yet in the SEC, but I think he will get it going in a few years. Such a huge fricking hire. Can't believe the Hogs pulled this off. Congrats to them.

Arkansas has marginal talent at best and it right in the middle of recruiting territories for both Big 12 and SEC powers. It's unlikely that recruiting will improve much and Petrino is not knows as being a great recruiter.

i think petrino at arkansas will be similar to spurrier at south carolina. fans and the media will make noise about him turning them into a power, but the results won't quite play out that way

Shreveport area is Strong LSU base you rarely see anyone younger than 60 in Ark garb.
