Coach O and Raymond have recruited LSU so well. Y’all come out making excuses for Riley now despite the fact that this was never brought up before in other threads. Why can’t he keep players?

We’re looking at it differently. You think making it to the playoffs 3 times and not winning is a failure. I see it as more of a great success to have made it 3 times. So I reject your notion that it “falls” on anybody.
Saban has warped how a lot of you see college football. You think it’s easy to win NCs. It ain’t.

My point is Riley should be dominating his conference yearly with his talent, but he doesn’t. His conference sucks and he doesn’t take advantage of if. He doesn’t get SEC level players and that’s not going to change with another blue bloods letters on your shirt. He is the stale choice imo.

He was playing SEC teams… like if he cannot win those games how do you expect him to make it to the playoffs if he cannot survive the SEC schedule?

Yeah he gets talent, but doesn’t develop it besides QB. How has the conference faired? Have they been dominant? Nope idts. Has he ever sealed the deal? Why go pay an absurd amount to a guy like this? You keep mentioning his age… I could give two shits about his age.

No. Winning any NCs much less multiple national titles is exceedingly rare. Hall of fame coaches like Bobby bowden won one. That’s why him being 38 matters. He has another 25-30 years of coaching.
Making 3 cfps puts him in the elite category.

Yea I would say having the national media pump you up yearly because you are the premier program of the big 12 doesn’t make you great.
