ESPN reporting Nutt to Ole Miss, this was probably worked out a few weeks ago if this is true. Man the pigs are some dumb motherfrickers, this is a very good hire for Ole Miss IMO.

wow -- I hope we don't end up regretting this

It's not confirmed yet, but I suspected as much when Nutt was happy and said he did not regret losing his job and it had been in the works for 2-3 weeks, this morning on Memphis radio the Ole Miss chancellor said the decision to get rid of Shrek was made 2-3 weeks ago.

I figured the players already knew at the LSU game... and then Nutt started crying. I knew it right then.

ESPN is reporting that HDN was offered a two year extension at 2.4 million a year, but HDN declined.
The next couple of years are going to be tough with the talent he is leaving and HDN has made comments he is aware of this. Of course, if he did not run off certain players there would be more talent in the stable.
Do not doubt, HDN knows it is easier to find a job after an 8-4 season than a 4-8 season.

how long a pass does the new coach get, considering the players that are Sr.'s and the ones that may opt to go early? just curious how patient Hog Nation will be with whomever. what's your early take?

I give a 2 or 3 year pass. We're going to suck for the next few years.

Been a tough year for him at Arkansas. His family had to endure taunting during some games and they had a car vandalized after a game.
Add that to the FOI request, airplane banners, e-mail investigation (or lack thereof) black shirts and other stuff.
To someone one who has been through that, the idea of settling on that $2.4 mil. and then getting another pay check from your new school sounds pretty good.
Nutt going to Ole Miss.

HDN and his wife are far from victims. Hate it for the kids though.
The University is taking the highroad and helping HDN keep his career by not terminating for cause.
Probably a 3 or 4 year pass for the new coach, and I hope they get a good one.

I'd agree with that, but it all amounts up to a "get the hell out" situation.

you think the fanbase is going to split regardless of whoever is hired? my sense from up here is that JFB's upcoming retirement had a lot to do w/this and that the base is going to be fractured for a while.
thought of this too - Nutt left during JFB's last yr. as a head coach and transferred to Okie St. (is that right?), and then he leaves again during JFB's last yr. as AD.

Depends who's hired.

Hopefully a win-win for him and the school.
While not a fan of HDN and strongly believe he should leave, he is not the devil that some make him out to be.
He and his wife have made some terrible decisions and had some terrible associations, but I do not know anyone who has not done so.

If they hire Graham w/ Malzahn, the fan base will be fractured for awhile. My opinion, I rather Ole Miss hire HDN than this crew at Tulsa.
Most anyone else will help unite.
The next fight, and there will be a next fight, will be the old stadium debate. This will occur when the games at War Memorial are eventually moved to Fayetteville, and they will more than likely be.
I would love to have LSU play in Fayetteville, I think your team and fans would enjoy it more too.
The debate may come soon, if the rumors of an aTm v. AR series is set up in Dallas. This could mean one home game a year is lost to Dallas, and I doubt it would be Fayetteville that loses the game.
There are other things they could do to work around it, but we will see.

I have a friend who played for Nutt, and he told me before the season that this was Nutt's last year regardless of what happens. His only reason for staying was his hope of getting Darren McFadden the Heisman trophy.

And Nutt's not going to GT or Ole Miss, he's going to Baylor.

i gotta say, UA (imo) has the best overall facilities in the SEC...i haven't been to every SEC campus, but i can't imagine anyone having anything much better. i'm impressed everytime i go to a football game, or go to an indoor track meet, Baseball, or to a Basketball game.

how long is the contract for two home games/yr. at War Memorial?

2013? I think. Sure you was just a pop...

so, he turns down an extension at 2.4 mil/yr., and walks away w/3.5 mil? Sexton is doing it real big.
