You guys need to read the transcript of his press conference, this rumor is taken out of context:

Q: What issues do you need to address for next year?

Colonel Reb: There are a few things, and I’m going to get into that Sunday. I just want to talk to my team first before they read it. I want them to hear it first.

LINK
He is saying that he doesn't want to talk about what his team needs to address for next year.

I had a pretty strong feeling it was going to be something like that...stuff for next year.

Did Ole Miss learn nothing from running off Cutcliff (sp???) after one losing season?

There was absolutely no mistake in getting rid of Cutcliffe. The mistake was in the hiring of Orgeron as anything other than a defensive line coach/recruiting coordinator.

That's because we couldn't find a coach that wanted to come to Ole Miss after Cutcliffe was fired.

I don't think he's going anywhere. I'd bet the AD demanded staff changes and Nutt is caving in with Nix and Rader as the sacrificial lambs.

Well Nix needs to go. His defense got worse throughout the season. I like Nix....but got to get rid of him.

A rebel with an honest answer to that that question.

I can remember all the rebs talking how they could go get Petrino or Neuheisal but both declined. Ole miss was lucky to get Erickson to even entertain the thought of an interview.

To be fair to Ole Miss, the pool of young up and comers wasn't as deep in 2004.

Well damn....you fire a coach after one losing season...yeah the demand to go to that school isn't very high. Boone panicked after he was turned down each and every time and decided to go the cheapest way possible and hire a freakin position coach.

Most other fans will not understand this, they simply do not understand your program the way you do.

Same thing happened to us.

I've always said that Nix got FAR too much credit for the past two years and right now he's receiving FAR too much blame for this year. The talent gap on defense is unbelievable right now. Nix is a mediocre to decent DC and was benifited by a big talent pool on defense. Honestly.....who thought Kendrick Lewis would be playing significant time as a rookie in the NFL?

We have some very good young talent on defense right now. The problem is that they are all Frosh(true and RS) and Sophomores.

Nix isn't good enough to overcome the talent gap. We had no quality DE's after Lockett went down and we had no quality DB's this year. That's why we gave up so many passing yards.

I think our main coaching problem on defense is two of our position coaches. Dameron has been just terrible at coaching our DB's and he's a sorry assed recruiter......worse than Kent Austin. Terry Price is ok as a DL coach in my opinion but I think we, by far, got the short end of the coaching switch with Rocker to Auburn.

.....but it's almost impossible to keep Nix after our defense gave up the most points in the history of our program IIRC.

Nutt's not going anywhere. The shine is off of that turd and people are finally seeing him for the average, mediocre, narcissistic fricker he is.

I'm sure Tyron Nix has "decided to pursue" other opportunities and it's time for the annual throw the offensive coordinator under the bus event where Rader will be let go. I wonder why guys are stupid enough to sign up to be his OC knowing they'll have no control over his junior high offense, but be held accountable when it sucks balls?
