Not surprising you used four seasons ago to make us look bad
You must have been at the Auburn game if you don't know where the four seasons came from---the TV guys started that. So, don't blame me. You guys have been great. So, stop with the you are picking on us BS.

even championship team) has been lucky.
That's true to a degree, but if you didn't notice in the Auburn game that luck took a serious hit as did Saban's coaching decisions . Alabama can be a power, but still not be the Alabama you have grown accustom to in the last 4-5 seasons.

The West runs through the Iron Bowl now
The Iron bowl having importance one time in the last three seasons hardly backs up that brag, but whatever makes you feel better after the way your regular season ended.

Did this thread finally get the anchor? I understand until Texas is filled that Saban is a candidate (despite repeated claims otherwise according to this board), but so is every other coach for that matter. We don't have a thread for all of them individually and having one for Saban only makes us look a little obsessed.
Also, to the "dynasty" topic, I promise any team in the country would claim dynasty if they won 3 out of 4, including LSU. The Bama run may or may not be over, but it was/is a dynasty.

insinuating is not the same as predicting. I predicted that Saban is going to Texas. I insinuated that it was gonna happen last Monday just to mess with Bama fans. Obviously you're still worried since you keep bringing it up.
Saban to Texas on January 3rd or 4th.
The old, I was just trolling, excuse when you were wrong to go with semantics on the terminology (predict vs insinuate)
Now be clear and precise so there is no room for more backtracking come Jan 3-4. Are you just insinuating to mess with Bama fans or are you predicting that Saban will be announced the head Coach of Texas on the 3rd or 4th of January 2014?
Is this just your own thoughts? or do you have a "source" that is close to the situation who is giving you info which you're basing your prediction?
It's funny watching you, thedoc and etc crawfish/ backtrack/dreams die and then change your predictions(insinuations) only to be wrong again every time. But Those were just troll jobs, right?
I'm sure it's tough for you tigers to watch Saban coached BAMA teams crush your tiger teams dreams on a yearly Basis. I can see why you choose to stay in this fantasy land of him leaving for Texas, it's your only hope to catch up to Bama's elite level. For now, you will just have to deal with being relegated to 3rd+ in the West.

I doubt Saban would agree to the Alabama deal and then back out of a $7.5 million a year contract offer. He used Texas to get a knee jerk reaction raise from Alabama. All coaches do it.

Dynasty BCS, but only one SEC title in those four years you bring up. How weird is that? Auburn has two SEC titles and going for their second BCS title in those four years. Are they a dynasty too?
I think we can say Alabama was a past dynasty, but they are in decline and we will have to see how much of one..

So painfully rustled.

Every day that Texas doesn't hire a coach, Saban is that much more of a possibility.

A warranted raise. Knee jerk or not.

One second away from another shot at the SEC and BCS titles is declining? Losing to a BCS title contender is declining?
I guess by definition we declined this season by most likely finishing 3rd in the BCS but that's only because we finished 1st the past two years.
What other evidence do you have we are declining? Recruiting? Facilities? Coaches compensation? Media coverage?
Change your name to "Bama groupee" if you're gonna hang on our nuts all the time.

Alabama won the west, the SEC, and the BCS a year ago. This year you didn't win the west, the SEC, or the BCS. So yes, Alabama declined.
Don't get your panties in such a wad. All good programs have times when they fail to live up to past success. If Saban learns from his blunders you might be back in the BCSCG again within a few years.

Don't drag us into your decline....we're fine.

This constant shite has been so entertaining, I hope UT dilly dallys around another month before they hire a replacement for ole yella teeth.

Bama won the SEC in '09 & '12.

You were one second away from overtime with no guarantee that you were going to win? But in typical gump arrogance & entitlement style, you immediately write off any chance of losing.
You know why the rest of the league hates you? BTW, not just LSU. Not because you are winning again after that embarrassing period of Price-DuBose-Franchione-Shula-probation.
Because of your collective fan base arrogance!

Did you read my quote?
I said a SHOT. That means we had a shot to beat Auburn and go to the SEC, and the BCS.
Read into everything too much.

*** Coaching Search: List Narrowing -- One candidate is out
BobbyBurton
BobbyBurton 26167 posts
Horns247 has learned that we can eliminate one name from a list of prospective coaches ? Auburn's Gus Malzahn.
While no specific reason was given, I was told that Malzahn is not going to be the next Texas coach.
Whether it's his own lack of interest or that of Texas is unclear. But I was told that Malzahn would not be the next Texas coach.
**
Two coaches remain at the forefront of the race. They are Florida State's Jimbo Fisher and Baylor's Art Briles.
Neither coach has said much publicly about the Texas position because both are preparing for BCS games. Briles leads Baylor into its first-ever BCS contest in the Fiesta Bowl while Fisher readies for the national championship game, which is almost two full weeks away.
**
I've heard some rumblings about Alabama's Nick Saban continuing to be a possibility.
I asked a high-ranking official if I should give any credence to the scuttlebutt.
"No," the source texted me.
Unfortunately, until the job actually goes to someone else, Saban's name will continue to surface.
Like Fisher and Briles, Saban is taking his team to a BCS bowl, too.
**
Given that the primary targets of Texas are all in BCS bowl games, I do not expect any announcements from Texas until into the new year.
However, I am told that Texas is primarily vetting college head coaches, not pro coaches.

I never said you were not. Only that the Alabama program declined this year from the level you were in 2012.

quote:So, by this, you agree that LSU is in major decline. After their loss to Bama in the 2011 BCS championship game, they have not won an SEC championship game or even been back to a BCS bowl. (Unlike Bama who is going for their 5th BCS bowl in the last 6 years.)
Alabama won the west, the SEC, and the BCS a year ago. This year you didn't win the west, the SEC, or the BCS. So yes, Alabama declined.

Since 2008, the records of Bama and LSU in the bowls are....
Bama 4-1 (four BCS games)
2008 loss in BCS bowl game
2010 win Cap 1 bowl
2009, 11, & 12 wins in BCS Championship games
LSU 2-3 (one BCS game)
2009 loss Cap 1 Bowl
2011 loss in BCS Championship game
2012 loss Peach Bowl
2008 win Peach Bowl
2010 win Cotton Bowl

You wasted your time. Alabama football declined in 2013 from what it was in 2012. You can bring up any other program you want, but that will not change the fact your program declined. Why you guys get your panties in a wad over it is funny.
Don't target me or LSU for Alabama sitting on the outside looking in for the West, SEC, and BCS titles. Blame you coach and his game blunders.

I am confused, why does this thread continue to stay below the active threads though it has current posts?
Posted on 12/27/13 at 10:44 am to LSU Groupee
I don't blame anyone. Auburn beat us in the SEC West championship. I like our shot next year considering the SECW championship is at home.
