Kelly and Rockne didn’t coach the same sport. No sense in even comparing the two.

Kelly isn't a bad coach but he's no Rockne.
Longevity record? Rockne coached at ND for 13 seasons and finished with a 105-12-5 record. Kelly coached for 12 years and finished with a 113-40 record. Is 12 years longer than 13?
Im not saying he is Rockne just that he has more wins than Rockne. If dbuchanon wants to believe that his coach, who took 5 years to win a Sunbelt championship, is comparable to Kelly who played for a National Championship and whos team was #5 in the country when he left is I guess in his own words is, weird.

One is the winningest ND Coach in terms of total wins.
One is the highest win % coach at ND.
It's almost like they are both really good coaches who coached at the same storied program.

He’s NDs version of Les Miles without the NC
.77%
Ya’ll fired Les. JS. Imagine Les without the NC or Bowl wins. Yikes
Kelly’s season record is good, but it should be at ND. In Big Bowl games he got his arse kicked. 0-6
Again, he’s good, not great. Great Coaches win the big games which at this point Kelly hasn’t. Stop trying to sell him like he’s the next Saban.
We’ll see how it goes for each of us.

I love how you keep trying to make arguments against Kelly while completely ignoring all the obvious information that makes your point ridiculous.
I'm sure ND has the same resources as LSU. I'm sure ND has an in state hot bed for recruiting. I'm sure ND doesn't have ridiculous academic standards to get in unlike LSU. You don't think any of those factors are the reason he couldn't compete in the playoffs???? How many NCs would Miles have won at ND?
I'm not going to tell you that Kelly is Nick Saban or anything but he is a proven winner with a lot less red flags than Napier. Sorry if you can't admit that. We will see how it all plays out but quit pretending like coaching at ND is the same as coaching at LSU or any other major SEC school.

Now picture this. Could you imagine if UF hired a HC who spent 4 years at a Sun Belt school because multiple other SEC West schools passed on him? That would really be something.
That dig at Sloan got you so much in your feelings that the best you could drum up was a provably false statement? Hate to see it.

Boy they real desperate n hoping Napier fails so they can tell themselves they made the right move. Everytime he moves they dead on it trying hard to downplay it lol
JS, for a team that supposedly had no interest in Napier their fans sure do like talking about him. Case in point a thread made on the CCB about UF bringing a former player now coach home got turned into a rah rah we got Kelly thread..

In other news
New #Gators assistant William Peagler was named FootballScoop's Running Backs Coach of the Year for his work at Michigan State in 2021.
That means UF now has 2 of the last 3 Running Backs Coach of the Year winners. Jabbar Juluke won it in 2019 - 247sports.com/college/florid…

And the digs at Napier have you so much in your feelings that you are posting from an alter just to simp for him.

He's from Gainesville and he was awesome for UF in his playing days

This is an absolute home run hire. Mike P. is an amazing person. Surprised he is not in the NFL actually.

Y’all hired two RB coaches? Weird flex but ok!

Why you mad that LSU hired a proven coach and your shite school had to go bargain bin shopping for someone that couldn’t even win the Sun Belt?

I’m sorry but much like with Bear Bryant, I’m unimpressed by Rockne’s wins. It’s easy to win a contest in which you are one of the only few contestants even trying. Back then there were a total of maybe 6 teams that have two shits about the success or failure of their football teams. They were the ONLY ones putting any real money or thought into who was playing for them. They were essentially the tallest midgets in the room. Congrats to them. I’m so impressed.

Wait. Napier hired two running backs coaches? And you think that’s a good thing? Lol

Notre Dame is not an easy place to win. Kelly only made it seem that way.

As an LSU fan, I don’t understand why my fellow LSU fans have to critique everything Napier does. It screams penis envy. It’s annoying and a little embarrassing.

Yeah because guys who know how to coach are limited to one position group, huh?
