But but but Saban is so debt-burdened that he has no choice! Oh, wait, no, he saw into the future that he would get a better deal from someone a year later. Of course, that year was spent sleepless because of SABAN DEBT CRISIS 2013, but it's all paid off for him in the billions the Longhorns are offering. This all makes perfect sense.

I'm sure he is. After all, an anonymous stranger on the internet said so! I'm sure you're quite the insider.
Bama faithful are locked in. It reminds me of LSU fans circa 2004.
It's gonna hurt bama fans even more though

The prez got some fancy schmancy title recently, which requires him being a college prez in order to keep it . .
Please elaborate. Did he get knighted?

How long has this massive debt of Saban's been in existance?
this has been in the background for a while
these legal proceedings typically move slowly
I believe the ownership stake in the chiller tower was a nugget Spinosa threw to Saban to entice his involvement (and use his name) in the bigger deal

Not sure that the booster money will ever be made public. He said 8 million a year for 10 years but in reality it's much more because of the debt being doubt off from his bad debts.
What happens to the debt in the event Saban leaves before filling the commitment?

If you're talking about butthurt over Saban, it should remind you of LSU fans from 2004 to this very moment. Some of them have even gone so far as to try to piece together a story about a crushing debt load, Texas boosters, blackmail, and out-and-out thuggery.
Can you imagine such a thing?

Saban just LOVES giving outsiders like rich boosters "authority" over hi

Don't kid yourself, plenty of boosters, even at Bama, pay large amounts of money for access to coaches. Rubbing elbows with donors is part of being a coach, especially at big time programs. Nick may not like it, but it part of the process.
Trust me when I tell you the Nick Saban does not deviate from the planned agenda of his football team for anyone, and certainly not some filthy rich booster that's holding the note on his bad debt/investments....
quote:I don't know what authority the Texas Administration has allowed their boosters to negotiate with the potential replacement of Brown.
The question I was asking are UT admin and the "boosters" on the same page and by what authority do the boosters have to negotiate?
I do know that when Mal Moore was courting Saban - all Mal had to do was make a few phone calls to a few BOT members and a few wealthy Bama boosters and those men opened their wallets. The Bama boosters pretty much let Mal work his magic with Mrs. Terry and the rest is a mighty fine history.

I can't tell anyone what nick saban is going to do.
But I was told that UT boosters not employed by UT deposited a check to secure nick saban.

so why hasn't your god come out and swatted down all the rumors and re-upped with bama?

Again, what happens with the debt in the event Saban does not fulfill the commitment to UTx?

Lsu fans had to hear about the NFL wanting saban every year he was here in Baton Rouge. It was old. It was "same old same old"
Saban loved BR! Terry did too! Blah blah blah
He then told everyone on Christmas Day that he was leaving. It happened just like this minus the complicated Mack brown situation.

Dunno. Probably because his agent is negotiating with Alabama for the best deal he can get and testing the market for other deals and/or leverage. I can't say for sure that he's staying (although I'm at about 90%), but, while this lasts, I'm certainly going to enjoy the zaniness in this thread.
