You guys need to separate that all sports reporters and part time guys from the full time college football analyst. The guys from game day versus the guys that do dozens of college football specific shows a week.
Tom is football guru, he knows everyone, sources everywhere and can probably name the top 100 football recruits in order and their likely landing spot right now and probably for next year too, etc. This is all he does, all day every day every hour every minute.
He doesn’t need to break new stories etc, his job is secure as he is “the go to” guy on college football at ESPN on a lot of topics.
He is clearing saying something is going on with Riley, and he has multiple well placed sources telling him something but he never claims any inside sources on anything, which is why he has so many of them.
Riley isn’t happy at Oklahoma, too much smoke.
All i heard in Texas is that that he was really pissed over alumni pressure, and lack of help etc dealing with spencer rattler, and his father who are apparently well known program killing cancers. I didn’t sound like that big of an issue at the time but if big donors are delegating who plays what position that would turn off any good coach.
Sauce was former Okie State player that lives in Oklahoma, and has good friends that are former OU players and big alums. His overall comment was a “lot of smoke, concern among his OU buddies, etc” and he wouldn’t be surprised but he didn't know anything specific, just that he was pissed, and he was curious what we are hearing.
Just general guy football gossip over a few beers before the Texas game, but at least gives some background to some things.
