He's xxxxx as a head coach. Titans have a lot of issues, but I'm going to assume he's somewhat part of the problem.
Edited to say I was wrong. I obviously misheard from Simmons podcast.

That's not his overall record. He went to the SB with AZ

Cioffi's live in our hood. They had a feeling a loss in Houston might be the final straw
Posted on 11/3/15 at 9:15 am to etm512
He was 45-51 in Arizona and 3-20 in Tennessee

whiz should have taken the Lions job

He may still have an opportunity at that.

His record is 3-19 which is bad don't get me wrong. But he's also been working with rookie QBs, no OL, no RB, no WRs to really speak of and an average D. So yeah. That team is extremely devoid of talent
He has had good WRs and a very good TE. The defense added a lot of talent and has played better.
Mariota has looked good, the RBs are bad and the OL is ATROCIOUS.

Really?
Yeah, really. He has been there a little over a season. Think about that? How can a man turn anything around in that short of time? Hell, Munchak even got 3 years.

I'm sorry.

Throw Gruden in there and it is over. Easily.

Wow. The Titans have recently hired NFL guys or re-treads. I have a feeling they will go after a college coach this time. With Mariota, I could see them pursuing Sumlin or Brian Kelly.

He has had good WRs
Wright is good, DGB is a rookie, Hunter still has a lot to prove and Douglas was a good 3rd WR in Atl.

Fasano?
And look I'm not saying he was the answer. Just trying to point out that this team has a lot more problems than just Whisenhunt

Delanie Walker.
The OL and RBs being terrible is killing them.

Ah yeah forgot about him

Delanie Walker
Guy would be a top 10 TE on a team with a competent offense.
ETA:
And Fasano is a very solid TE2

Unfortunately for the Titans, they have to rely on Mularkey to run the team the rest of the way. I think I would have hired someone from the stands before I put that bozo back in charge of a team. He is not deserving of even an interim tag.

Very happy with this news as a Titans fan.
Really, the whole management needs to be purged. Hiring Whisenhunt after Munchak was just a terrible move. Dealing with such mediocrity-to-downright shitiness for 5 seasons has been so frustrating.
I don't particularly see any upspring with Mularkey, as the entire offense, aside from Mariota, Walker, and Wright, is just terrible. We shouldn't be seeing such little production when we consistently get a top 10 pick in the draft.
I'd love to see the Titans bring in a younger, fiery up-and-comer, but who am I kidding - it won't happen. Best they'll be able to do is Josh McDaniels.

Like their version of Sean Payton

McDaniels MAY not be a bad choice for Tennessee if they can get an offensive line together. I think McDaniels would love Metts armstrength over Mariota's, but I don't think they would make any drastic changes. However, they could easily move Mariota for a star RB and I'm sure more than a few teams would jump at that. McDaniels knows how to groom QBs.

Kind of a bad situation for Mariota. He's probably going to be on a short leash under the next regime considering he isn't their guy. Also he's going to have to learn a completely new system in only his second season. Not sure if Titans management has a plan or just flying by the seat of their pants. If not they are setting their young QB up for failure.
