i agree, but hiring malveto was a big risk(no big time dc experience) for a program that could have hired a dc with experience.

Co-Ds did not run the same D as poleni. Players
stated this. Co-D's played 5-2 versus GA.

The D players were confused!

Miles went with the choice that he thought was safe at the time: co-hire from within...co-DC's that have never run the same defense that helped you with a spectacular 3-year run that included a national championship.

agree. That was the worst part. There is no reason to take a risk when LSU is where it is.

So far Miles has:

-tried to bring Bill Clay along as DC
-tried to promote Monken to a Co-OC position
-promoted two retards to Co-DC

Other than that, no discipline, micromanagement of the few good coaches he has had, no media savvy and poor gameday management he really is a top notch head coach.

Was Tenuta hired for Michigan or was his interview that bad here?

Flip side:

-Hired Pelini as DC
-Hired GC as OC
-Finished #5, #3, #1 in the previos three seasons

pretty good HC job

would his record, regular and bowl seasons, have any revelance in the overall discussion of his performance?

I get the impression they are taking their time because

1) there is no hurry, LSU is a primo spot for a DC to be, especially with the odd year schedule coming up

2) they want to leave no stone unturned

3) they have some NFL guys they want to talk to and that is a sticky situation with the NFL having so many teams still playoff eligible

4) Miles knows he has someone in his backpocket (Tenuta?) and he can afford to be picky since this is such a big hire
