It’s not much closer. The east coast beaches (St Aug, Daytona etc) are pretty shitty, and those are the closest. The Georgia islands are probably more his vibe and that’s only like 60 minutes more than Baton Rouge is to the gulf coast.

Traffic isnt bad and the suburbs are much nicer. Also much better economy and no state income tax
