No, no mean football savvy, coaching ability, recruiting ability, etc. If you don’t think High Freeze is better than any candidate on the list then you don’t watch football. Regardless of how people feel about the man he can coach. He wins at Liberty for Christ sake!

I place Meyer above Freeze. How could you not?
His teams had elite defenses to go along with his offensive genius, and he won 3 NCs between 2 schools. Guaranteed NCs.
I would love either, though. I just think the SEC/NCAA offices would have to give their blessing before Woodward would look at Freeze.
Meyer isn’t under their scrutiny.

I am Freeze’s biggest supporter, but I don’t think you should get defensive about that picture. It’s awesome and hilarious. It was funny seeing him at the game like that. His will can’t be stopped.
Meyer is more accomplished. I mean he’s the 2nd best college coach in the past 20 years or so. I guess you could throw in Pete as well, but he’s not coming back to coach college.
However, I believe Freeze has the potential to have the same success as Urban if he was at an elite school. I also think he would stick around for a long time. I believe he is genuinely a good hearted guy who got caught up in quick success and made a huge mistake. I feel like he is a safer hire for it, but I don’t fault others who see it differently. I have watched a ton of his interviews since being at Liberty and I am completely sold on him as a person.

The SEC said he needed to go coach somewhere else for a couple of years and stay clean and he could come back. I believe he is cleared to return to the SEC now.
Meyer had the most recent questionable behavior though. And Meyer is known to constantly leave due to said health issues.
I would be incredibly happy with either. I don’t believe either would happen. I almost think Saban would be more realistic than either as insane as that sounds. I just don’t think LSU would hire either. I would love to be wrong.

My thoughts about this process is simple...you're paying 17M for one coach to go away. You've signaled $$$ is no option for a proven winner...we have resources? facilities, fan support...what most programs crave...
and we're just going to hire Billy Napier from ULL? Mark Stoops? Bill frickin O'Brien?
You don't make this kind of move, after all the shenanigans, etc. to hire some "maybe or washout" that's not done it consistently. You make this kind of move to make an impact...all I'm saying. Hire the objective best and best fit.

I like freeze and think he would do well but this is over kill.
Hyperbole.
There is no logic in putting anyone...ANYONE above Meyer, I would include saban at this point in his life. If you want to debate freeze over Riley you MAY have a tiny argument to be made. You'd be wrong but at least slightly rational.
