Just Say No To A&M!

This exemplifies the current situation in conference realignment:
If the SEC does not add A&M then it is highly possible, maybe even probable, that the Pac12 will not seek to expand. It has been said that they are currently happy with their position and their recent additions. However, if the SEC expands then the Pac12 and the Big Ten will be forced to counter the moves by the SEC.
Everybody needs to put down their guns and the SEC has no need to fire that first shot by adding A&M. I sympathize with A&M having to deal with those elitist dickheads (Texas) but THAT IS NOT OUR PROBLEM. Let them stay in their weaker Big 12 conference and have a wonderfully spiteful, hate-filled rivalry with their big brothers in Texas. Let the Red River Rivalry State Fair game continue as it has for more than 100 years. Let Oklahoma stay where it belongs rather than the Pacific coast. And, above all, LET THE SEC NOT HAVE TO ADD A MISSOURI OR WEST VIRGINIA.
We do not need this. We don't need "access to Texas recruits." SEC teams do just fine. In fact, we dominate. We don't need, nor will we get, the Texas TV viewers because adding A&M does not mean getting the Texas TV audience. We have shiploads of cash. We are fine. There is no need to water down our conference and that is what we will be doing by adding these schools.

Sadly, it's not us who need convincing.

Change has to happen. Nothing ever stays still. If you don't act you get left behind. The Pac 12 will eventually try and expand even if the SEC didn't. We are a great conference right now but we need to be proactive and not reactive like the other conferences. If history teaches us anything, nothing stays the same.
