Having recently married into a LSU/SEC family I can certainly appreciate some of these points against having Mizzou in the SEC but here are a few points on why Mizzou would fit in great with the SEC. I know Mizzou has had some terrible years in the 80s and 90s but the last ten years they have invested money and resources into football and they are now once again a winning football program. In the past 5 years Mizzou has played and beat SEC teams 4 times. Mizzou has a large TV market between STL(21), KC(32), and to a lesser extent Springfield(74). Basketball is well above average and Mike Anderson still recruits heavy in the south east states. Missouri borders 3 SEC states and we would travel nicely to Tennessee, Kentucky, and Arkansas, and having traveled to the BR several times I can say that is a doable trip as well. I don't know which conference Mizzou will land but I think Texas A&M and Mizzou would be great for the SEC.

I'd love to see it. Add Texas A&M and N.C. State and my dream will come true.

All the points made about Mizzou's TV market is absolutely correct. And they have a huge alumni base. Don't forget, people, that counts for a lot when teams travel to BR.

Here's my pecking order:
TA&M
MIZZOU
VT
GA Tech (can't make the East too rough!)
Cincinnati (would steal some of the Ohio market)

I don't understand why nobody is mentioning Georgia Tech as an addition to the SEC. I know it wouldn't add much to TV revenues, but it would add alot to the SEC when it comes to rivalry, tradition, and down-right hatred - isn't that what it's all about?
