How sweet would it be, if the Pac 10 stopped now with 12. The Ag's came to the SEC and Texas was left holding the bag in a 9 team conference?

Stupid. They should have taken BYU - bigger school, a lot more fans, and a ton of Mormons in California, Arizona and Oregon.
BYU won't accept a bid unless they have a guarantee of no games on Sunday. PAC-__ can't/won't offer that.

quote:What, Chip Brown wrote a story blaming no Baylor to the Pac-10 on Cal, SOURCING TEXAS OFFICIALS? Cal has never publicly stated that. I don't doubt its a concern, but I also doubt its an explicit deal-breaker. You think Cal obejects to Notre Dame or Georgetown, education wise?
Hard to deny it now, after what happened between Cal and Baylor.
What likely happened is that a Cal official, in negotiations with Texas, raised the religious objection. Texas leaked that objection as if it was Cal's policy to Chip Brown, and he ran with the story. It was a way for Texas to look like they fought for Bayor while at the same time killing the chances of Baylor going. Texas doesn't want BU in the Pac-10 either.
