No offense, but I wish we would play a rent-a-win the week of Thanksgiving. I'm not a fan of the Friday after Thanksgiving game with Arky, and A&M on Thanksgiving would probably be the same. The atmosphere on campus and in the stadium just isn't the same. Students out of school and a lot of people with family obligations. It's still a better atmosphere than most other big time colleges, but just not how LSU does it for a conference game. We don't have a "rival" and I'm ok with it, no need to try to create one. Just my opinion.

All for it, as long as it's home & home...no neutral site.

Nope.
That is for the biggest game of the year...for those of us in the borderzone of NorthLA/SouthAR - the showdown between the Hogs and the Tigers. Lately it has been good to cause a lot of post-Tgiving meal indigestion.
A&M needs to establish themselves with an LSU game in early October and make it a good game before hoping to get a late November slot. Whether the Cajuns like it or not, the Tgiving weekend is already taken.

I think you're way off base.
Who gives a frick if arky has given us more than we could handle these last 5 years, it's about potential.
Who doesn't want a good rivalry with Texas? And like Kat said, there's so many dislocated people mixed between the states, it makes a recipe for a damn good series down the road.
No offense aTm guys, but I expect a jump to the SEC to force the rise of your program. It's a fricking arms race to hire the best coaches and build the best facilities. It will make you better.

Trust me, no offense taken. This is exactly what I'm hoping for even if we lose early. Maybe the ultra competitive atmosphere of the SEC will force us to realize the potential of our program, and if not, it will sure as hell make fun for some fun road trips and football weekends.

It seems A&M just started taking big time CFB seriously about the time Fran was hired. Started building facilities, and we are still building. Just, Fran sucked...bad.
Sherman is a program builder. And when he's done the next guy will be walking into a great situation.
The one thing A&M is slightly behind on is coaches salaries. But, Sherman opted for less and we dont have an OC. DeRuyter is paid well at DC though

I second the vote for Home and Home only! College Football was meant to be played on college campuses. I understand the power or $$, but I'm not all that impressed by playing in an atmosphere like Cowboys Stadium. It doesn't "feel" like college football to me. Reliant is a better atmosphere, but the point still stands. Plus Bryan/College Station could use the economic boost.

LSU fans are desperate for a rival, they've been buggin us about it for years. plus series with A&M is more even than Ark/A&M so its a better fit for a rivalry and it will get LSU off our backs.

Completely agree with Big Kat's post. I can definitely see Sleepy Sherm getting a major pay raise/extension if we meet expectations this season and are headed to the SEC to "keep up with the Joneses" so to speak.
I know we definitely have the money and resources to build these facilities and pay these coaches to keep up with the other SEC schools. Hate on our traditions and mediocre performance on the football field, but we have an enormous endowment, enrollment and fan support. Hopefully it will translate to success on the field in due time once we switch conferences.

Piss on Arkansas. Bring on the Faggies.

Why in the hell are LSU fans allowing retarded wannabe A&M fans talk shite to arkansas or LSU? News flash both teams will and are going to kick your arses worse than you have ever experienced before. It will be years before you are even competitive in this league. You may be pumped up by the media talking heads but I will make this prediction right here and right now. Our defense will kill your spread crap and have Tanneyhill on his back most of the game. Set back and watch your destruction for the third year in a row and then realize what you are getting yourselves into. Tuck your tail between your legs and thank heaven you do not have to face that but once a year. Those 4 and 5 win seasons will add up so fast.....

maybe you should read the history retard. A lot of my predictions have come true.
and as far as any stupid post I make? You need to worry about yourselves and what you wish for. You will be right there with MSU, Ole Miss, Vandy and Kentucky. No way no how does your coaching and players stack up against SEC quality. I really do not know why your fans are pushing so hard for this. If I was them I would run the other way.

You have a few good seasons and you think you're hot shite? We had more conference championships in the SWC and we'll have more in the SEC. I take dumps that are better athletic programs than yours, we'll be strong in every sport across the board. We'll beat you this year, book it.
Posted on 8/25/11 at 11:56 pm to HawgAlude
Hawg, so threatened by us. You can't stand that people think we will be better in the SEC than you. Or that you believe it too.
Also...
We don't run a spread
Our OL will protect Tannehill fine
We have plenty SEC caliber players
We are ranked higher and favored to beat you
Your smack is based that ALL SEC = better than A&M. Not true. We are top 10
Talk more shite after you've won the SEC. 0-19. You are 7th at best in the SEC pecking order. Bottom half. Congratulations
A&M will probably win an SEC title before Arkansas

NOT, you all kill me with your stirring the pot rants. Where you see yourselves fitting in and where you all actually will be are two different things. You will not have a competitive record against LSU and do not have one against Arkansas. So just how do you figure that you are a better fit for and belong in the SEC?
Oh and yeah I saw your ESPN Big 12.10 preview and that whole spread thing came from their mouths not mine. I just repeated it.
