I agree that VT would probably be the best "get" for the SEC for #14. However, you are off to say that their academics or fan support is much better than Clemson. I'd say those schools are about equal academically. VT has a bigger national name, but Clemson probably has a similar number of hard core fans.

I think several of the ACC schools would be positive additions to the SEC. VT or FSU would be great. Clemson or NC State would be good.

I am not obsessed with the $20 million figure. Everybody that says no ACC team will leave the conference is obsessed with it, and I'm obsessed with the stupidity that's involved with this thinking.

You have no idea what FSU's intentions are! Yet you claim to. The SEC voted to not invite TAMU into the conference and said they were happy in their current configuration. Yet that was just a formal move to pave the way for TAMU to request admission.

If FSU is 100% ACC, then why announce that their board is meeting to the media to discuss expansion? If they were going to stay in the ACC no matter what, why even make the meeting public? Why give it media attention? Do you know what their intentions are? No, you don't. Nobody does. It's just as likely they could be leaving as staying.

Just because a vote was unanimous doesn't mean it truly was. This has been discussed ad nauseum. Yet for some reason you're still having trouble with it. Sometimes schools voice their objections but vote with the majority to show a united front anyway. Things aren't as concrete as you're trying to make them to be.

As far as "leading the charge," again you don't know any of the internal dealings. Maybe FSU offered to lead the charge publicly to make other schools feel confident in the ACCs future before they left in exchange for a lower buyout. Is this likely? Who knows. The point is things aren't always what they appear. Yet you seem to be 100% sure you know the intentions of all the players at the table, when you don't.

I agee VT should be #1 on the SEC's radar. Couldnt be a more perfect cross division rival for Texas AM. Both are steeped in military traditions and rapid fanbases. VT can still keep their UVa rivalry as they kept it going for decades without being in the same conference.

That being said. I think VT will take the easier road to the BCS by staying in the ACC. They dreamed of being in the ACC for decades so I dont think they will throw that away.

I think the SEc has a better chance at FSU or NCST (no way UNC leaves the ACC). Of course, I think WVU would jump at the chance to be in the SEC, but I think that will be the SEC's last choice.
