I agree. However, from what I heard, it's not who watches that matters. It's whether the cable provider in your area offers it as part of a package. If they do, then you pay for it even if you don't watch. So, for instance, I get the Cartoon Network in my cable package. Just because I don't watch it doesn't mean I don't pay for it.

I would think it would be part of a premium sports package, which not a lot of people would want to shell out $$$ for.

Well, even then, the package is sold as a package. That means $1 per package goes to Texas. And, even if fans don't care about football because all the games are aired anyway, they might want basketball or baseball. There are a couple of UT alums around here who would buy it just to say they have it.
