Anyone ever dropped an 8i shaft in wedges?

MobileClubmaker YT video
Synopsis is you grab the same shaft that is in your current wedges but a flex stronger and in 8 iron length. Then butt cut it to the length of your wedges. The Trackman data showed almost 1k more RPM and about 5ft of less height and much tighter dispersion. Had a stronger player double the spin from stock stiff wedge to this approach.
Runs off to ebay to buy 8i shafts.

I’ve thought about it but have never actually done it. I already hit my wedges high enough and spin them enough with the heavier shafts, I don’t want to put a lighter/softer one on there. You can go up in stiffness but the shaft profile is still going to be different after you trim the 8 iron shaft to wedge length.

Did you watch the video?
Guy goes into it and says there are minimal differences in feel.
ETA: I played single lengths and they were all 7i shafts in the heads. Feel difference was minimal and I didn't notice it.

Could you do that through the bag?

No idea. I imagine that competent fitters would suggest this if you weren't getting fit into a specific shaft that best fit you.
I'm really thinking about doing this this winter when I want to golf but cant and end up breaking shite in my house swinging clubs.

Tiger used to do this, still may.
I prefer just going to an S400

I put a Project X +1" shaft in my 54 to see what it would do. The answer is nothing. It was difficult to get accustom to the length. Once I did, I didn't notice anything different.
