Fantasy Finals Conundrum (updated with Rosters)

Have made the finals in a league. Winner gets 1050, 2nd place gets 600. Been approached by my opponent if we wanna split the pot where the final gets played basically for the record books. So would be $825 for me and $825 to him.
I gotta say am tempted to take the deal. Especially because I usually never play high stakes and this is a sizeable chunk coming my way.
I can share our rosters if anyone needs that to give feedback but fwiw, I finished #1 seed in league and he was the #6 and last seed to qualify for playoffs in 12 team league but in playoffs none of that matters shite I know.
Current rosters:
Me:
Mahomes, Burrow
Chubb, DHarris, Connor, Edmonds, Dillon, MCarter, BScott
Chase, KAllen, Lockett
Everett
Eagles, Cowboys
(currently empty slot for K till Fri/sat)
Him:
Brady
Barkley, RPenny, DDallas, Duke Johnson, Ogunbowale
DAdams, DJMoore, Callaway, Guyton, Marvin Jones
Andrews, Gronk (flex)
Boswell
Niners DST

This isn't Let Make a Deal, it's fantasy football. Play it out.

If I play for a split I always try to play for something in the game that isn't a participation trophy. Something Like Winner gets an extra $100 or something

I’ve always been a fan of the split. . Most of the ones judging you are people that aren’t in contention anymore. It’s right after Christmas. A few hundred extra bucks is nice right now. I just don’t really discuss it with anyone but the other person. It’s no one else’s business.

Never split evenly in my opinion. That belittles the champion. First place should get the top prize, even if it is as trivial as only $100 more than second place. I suggest making the first place payout slightly larger than second place if you are gung-ho on limiting your downside risk of finishing second.
Also, typically the team that is not favored to win is the one to suggest a split.

I think if the rules are defined up front at the beginning of the year, you stick with 'em this year. Vote for changes next year.
That's not a bad split. I'd probably play it out if that's what everyone agreed to at the beginning of the year. It's the "Winner Take All" leagues where that discussion comes into play. If you make the finals you ought to get something for all your hard work. Winner gets more obviously.
Example: To keep interest in a long standing 12 Team Yahoo League we started at work, we do this ($25 Entry Fee):
Payout:
1st $171.50
2nd $73.50
3rd $30.00
Consolation Bracket Winner $25.00

I’d be curious to see the rosters, but in a 1 vs 6 matchup this looks like a better deal for him than you.
I agree, if this was a winner take all league, it’s a different conversation.
1050/600 split seems really fair.
I’m first place (on an 8 game win streak) in a winner take all league vs the #2 seed. I’d take a split if my opponent asked, but I do like the idea of a slightly higher payout to the winner.

The thought of doing 725/925 split had crossed my mind....may be final course of action. I just hate having a good team and losing, yes it's luck if the draw.
For example, had I not had a bye week 15, I would have lost easily cause my team scored less than 60, including Godwin getting hurt and going to IR
