Does anyone here have the same sentiment as the majority of people posting on ticker forum?Honestly, every time I read that site, I get so worried that I cannot concentrate on day to day activities. Is the doom and gloom they are all predicting as imminent as they claim?

Things are bad. A lot of folks have lost an assload of money this year listening to the likes of Jim Cramer "Buy Wachovia! Buy Bear Sterns!"
Hell even investing in an S&P 500 index fun like VFINX has been punishing losing over 30% of it's value. Put it to you this way, if I had invested $15k a year for the past 10 years and put it in an index fund I would have $133k today instead of the $165k I invested in it. An annual return of -1.8%.
fricking fantastic right? If you have it in cash with Fidelity who pays pays interest of 5%, so the differential return is -2.9%.
People are frickING PISSED on tickerforum for a reason: They've been lied to. Two months ago they were told "the market is safe and sound". 12 months ago you had every real estate expert on TV saying that the market had bottomed.
Meanwhile, nearly every (non entry-level) wall street investment bank employee gets to keep their job and make $300k+ a year while they take outrageous risk with others people money and lose. There is no transparency in the market; the banks continue to lie about their finances. Everybody knows it is a farce, which is why you have the credit freeze. It's not a liquidity issue, it's a solvency issue.
Meanwhile you and I get to pay the bill for this over the next 60 years.

All I can tell you about those people is that they've nailed this shite for over 12 months. They've also helped me to make an assload (relatively speaking, of course) of money over that same timespan.

What is this Ticker forum that you speak of?

When I first started reading, I was thinking those people just need some medication. Fortunately for my wallet, I started following a lot of their advice anyway. It's amazing how spot on they have been when they were talking 180 degrees different from what the regular media was saying. I sure as hell hope we can get things turned around and not head to some of those situations described as possible scenarios.

I agree that they have nailed this over the past year, I just get very concerned when these same people appear to be truly discussing assembling compounds, their firearms collections, and their farming abilities.
