Just swapping Morgan and Berry at first and right would produce monstrous benefits.
Then do Doughty and Merrifield at second and third.

There is no hiding Berry. He will frick up at 1st base. We are worse with him on the field anywhere. I’m gonna lose respect for JJ if he doesn’t have the balls to eventually put him at DH.

I like Merrifield. He’s not as good defensively as I thought he’d be, but he’s a gamer and is probably gonna wind up starting most of the year, but I don’t think JJ is 100% convinced of that just yet. I think he’d like to leave a Berry at 3rd option to get a Gio or Pearson in at DH or LF with Jobert at the other. I don’t think that plays in the SEC. Berry is gonna make some bad plays in some big games that hurt. Not really his fault. I doubt it’s an effort thing at all.

I think Berry will come around. JJ (and Berry) has to realize that he was freshman all American at 3B for a reason
