Ghost released their 5th album today called Impera. Really good album imo. Spillways has a dark Bon Jovi feel to it.

Track list:

1. Imperium
2. Kaisarion
3. Spillways
4. Call Me Little Sunshine
5. Hunter's Moon
6. Watcher in the Sky
7. Dominion
8. Twenties
9. Darkness at the Heart of My Love
10. Griftwood
11. Bite of Passage
12. Respite on the Spitalfields

This band had to grow on me at first but now I love them. They are such a breath of fresh air but with a nostalgia sound compared to the usual rock/metal styles we hear today.

Still hate the gimmick

THIS!!!

I’ve tried to get into their music but the whole theatric nonsense they do makes it impossible to take them seriously. For some reason I can’t get past it.

They seem to care more about the characters they play on stage than the actual music.

Fantastic album start to finish. You can tell they were listening to 80's music when they wrote most of it. I've listened to it 5 times already.

I attended the concert in Dallas a month ago and Kaisarion was the opener. I wasn't familiar with the song at the time and that's always a risk. But it was a great, energetic way to kick off the show.

Darkness At The Heart of My Love might be one of the greatest power ballads ever written: YouTube

Probably listened to this about 10 times since it dropped. So good from beginning to end. Has an 80s metal vibe that's just great and fun to listen to.

The music is soulless.

Got a little Van Halen vibe to it mixed with something I haven't quite put my finger on yet. Screams of 80's hair metal, but I'm struggling to figure out which band.

The music is good but these guys are REALLY into Satan. The characters VERY important to them. Read up on the band. I went down a rabbit hole the other day. It is most likely "theater" but who knows. It just seems like it is real for these guys. No judgment but its kinda scary.

It thought it was all just an act?

However, the band has said several times their image is all tongue-in-cheek, citing that "We have no militant agenda. We are an entertainment group."[5]

I’m on the first listen. I’ve been worried they’d never duplicate prequelle for me. I know it’s not everyone’s favorite but I love it. On the third song. This album hits!
