a T.D. like the Fla. player did, Miles would chastise that player and probably suspend him for a quarter or something like that. I know, all you Fla. fans will say it's as stupid as Harry Coleman taunting while down 20+. Grow some balls Meyer and make the kid an example. This aint the pros.

horseshite!

While I hate that Sikes did that and you and I agree that sort of thing should never happen I gotta call horseshite on your statement.

I didn't see it. I was celebrating too much, but I agree it was absolutely uncalled for, and I thought a half-game suspension would be appropriate.

Has Meyer issued a statement like...
We will deal with it accordingly.
Has anyone even mentioned how cool it looked?

LSU fans would want that player kicked off the team for having so much fun and showing so much emotion.

I thought it was cool as shite, pissed off as much as I was. Let the boys play and have fun. It's just a game.

When this is the only thing our fanbase can grasp at after a 30 pt loss, I pray to God we don't lose this weekend. We might go after the opposing teams color scheme next.

Let's get our problems in focus, let Meyer handle UF's. Les has a much tougher row to hoe.

If Meyer does not impose any kind of discipline it only reflects on Meyer- even Saban would have the player sit out a quarter or at least a half

And congrats to Florida- no excuses they whipped us like no one else has

Meyer should be angry at him, but only b/c it cost them a penalty. Nothing wrong with having fun and showing emotion. Nothing inherently evil about kicking a ball. If anything, it should have fired up the LSU players.

Regardless of team affiliation, I have no problem with it. If he did it again, there should be some punishment but this was just excitement for a career game for Spikes. These guys are just getting excited. It's no different than the unnecessary flips players do in the endzone, IMO.

He got carried away and punted the ball. I don't think it warrants any type of suspension. Maybe, after things settle down, a sit down explaining how the coaching staff wants players to represent the university, etc... but that's about it.

Dude, that was nothing. I'm a notorious stickler for hating on players who celebrate in close games, but when you've just blown the doors down, who the frick cares at that point? It didn't hurt anyone.

As the saying goes, "don't do the crime if you can't do the time." Well, the 15-yard penalty on UF after that incident was completely meaningless. It was the correct call, and Florida was correct to celebrate at that point.

And keep in mind, I--more than almost anyone else--absolutely HATE celebrations during the middle of a game. This was different, though. The game was over.

This is the only thing we can grasp at? No other posts dealing with the team's performance, just this one?

Take it easy on the drama. The action was big enough to draw more than one comment from the CBS guys, plus a mention or two on ESPN. It's not like we're the only folks that noticed.

Does it bother you that badly?

If Charles Scott had done it, this damn board would be giving it stupid fricking nicknames.

I think the anger comes from the fact that we didn't get to do it. They did.

+1

If you were deeply offended by this punt, you probably should just turn the channel to Lifetime.

If one of our players had a flagrant karate chop to an opposing player in a tied game (overtime at that), I know that Les Miles would be the strong arm of the law and show the world that LSU doesn't do that. He'd not only throw him off the team but tell him to find his own way home.......

wait a minute, ummmm, errrr, maybe you just wouldn't have a team left if you kicked everyone off for getting penalties/taunting.

I have to disagree - I hate end zone celebrations and that was cause for the penalty and some punishment by the coach. I would also lecture our players for tauting. IF you let one player do it then each and every player gets to do it at least once. You have to have rules and issue punishment accordingly.
