My buddy is coaching a highschool tournament there this week. Any Golf Boarders familiar with this track? Conditions? Tips? Doesn’t look great on Google search TIA

It's your typical muni. It's a long course for sure. 7,260 yards from the tips. I played it a lot in HS and just after. They redid the greens about 10 years ago and they roll really well now.
ETA: It looks like they've made some layout changes and it's now just over 6,900 from the tips.

Wear a bullet proof vest
JK, it’s not a bad course, gets shite on bc people go out there and expect it to be a private course and perfectly manicured. Grip it and rip it. Most fairways border each other so if you miss it’s not a big deal. As previous poster said, it’s a long course. The layout is nothing like Webb but overall conditions and vibe is like it

I live in the Bossier/Shreveport area so I've played it quite a bit over the years. It's actually in pretty good shape right now. The greens are in decent shape, they are just on the slow side.
Will they be able to play a practice round before? If so, I would really suggest they figure out which club to use off the tee on #8, #11, and #13. You could really mess up easy holes on 11 and 13 by hitting the wrong club off the tee.
It's pretty open but does have a lot of tree so even though you most likely wont be OB on miss hits, you will get punished by the trees.
Overall a pretty fun and challenging course as far as city courses go.

Curious to how this went/is going...

If it hasn't changed in the last 20 years, #10 is one of the hardest holes in the state.

Yeah, #10 was tough uphill hole but I think they moved the tees up a little. #17 to me was the hardest hole - long par four uphill to a small contoured green. That was a tough par. Think they may have shortened a little too tho

The only changes they've made have been leveling out the greens. Did the same thing with Querbes maybe 10 (just guessing) years ago. Made a huge difference for both courses. They both already had small greens, having them all as just a big hump was a pretty bad idea.
Played Querbes a few weeks ago and couldnt believe how nice their greens were.
