A little insight/ Perscpective/ Eureka!

Given several people on this boards belief that none of us have any right to criticize Miles, nor the DCs, etc because they obviously know more football then us, it seems necessary to point something out.
Most discoveries, revelations, or Eureka moments if you will do not occur because someone has more knowledge/experience in a circumstance. They normally happen by someone outside the situation pointing out the obvious. This can happen in football. Some coaches are stubborn, some stupid, some misguided, but more often than not they just get tunnel vision with certain things.
Sometimes things are blatantly obvious to others (in this case many fans), but outside the vision of the coaches/players. Just basic knowledge of football can be enough to point out that there is an issue with the defense and our scheme.
That isn't to say these guys can't do their jobs, but obviously they can make mistakes and miss certain things that are quite obvious to others. Just because we see something that concerns us, does not mean we are against the coaches or a team, but simply have a different perspective. I have faith things will work out, and will support my tigers to the end.

another set of eyes...forest through the trees...all that stuff?

Also, I think the coaches need some checks and balances from the fans. It's part of the job, but there is a point where the fans get out of hand. I feel like some of the posts on here are getting to that point.

I agree some claiming for firings and the like are totally absurd. No one has that right based on 1 loss given what Miles has done here.
The point here is that sometimes people can just miss the obvious, especially in something like this. I really think we missed the boat on the DC hire, but its not the end of the world and these guys can fix it. Just haven't seen anything this season to prove that true, and actually everything the opposite.
Perspective is everything in this world, and sometimes people can't pull them self outside the circumstances to look at it objectively. This happens a lot in sports and is often the downfall of many athletes, coaches and the like.
I have faith in Miles, but I do question his decision to promote Mallory and Peveto to DC.

That caught me too. Coaches need to do what is best for the team to succeed, and not what the fans simply want. This, however, doesn't mean the fans can't be right on some things, but a coach shouldn't be doing it to satisfy fans, but because that would be something best for the team.
Fans of some institutions have WAY to much influence (see Arky and Nutt).

I think you both misunderstood what I am saying. I am not saying that they should do what the fans want. Not at all.
I am saying that they get paid to handle the pressures that come with coaching a big time program. Fans, admin, players, media, boosters, etc are all part of this pressure. I think these are good to an extent because it keeps the coach on his toes. The last thing I would want is a complacent coach.
A coach needs to be able to take on the pressure (and sift through associated BS) and be able to make tough decisions that ultimately benefit the team.

You're right. Why don't you go to Miles' office tomorrow and list for him all the things he's doing wrong...
Posted on 10/15/08 at 7:08 pm to TigerGold4
God, people like you are stupid. You people act like any criticism or difference in perspective/opinion means you are bashing completely a person's worth. I do realize that it may be beyond TigerGold4's capacity to comprehend that though.

Don't try and tell me what I understand and don't... I understand criticism, but I think you guys are dumb if you think that you're seeing something that the coaches aren't.
Posted on 10/15/08 at 7:13 pm to TigerGold4
Really? We are dumb in saying that maybe, just maybe, the coaches are steadfast that it is the system and execution is the problem, when the problem is actually in the system?
It happens all of the time. Why do you think coaches get fired? You think they see things and just don't do anything about them? You think coaches simply say "I see this major flaw in our system, but I don't care if we win or not, let's stick to it."
No, they don't. Some systems just inherently are flawed, and LSU's is. They may honestly believe they can fix it to account for the flaws, but nothing has been demonstrated to prove that.

You're right Bob. I'm making www.firemiles.com right now.

Statements like that are why people, for good reason, make fun of your goofy arse

Did I call for firing Miles in any of my posts? No, I didn't, and you are a typical retard simply acting like any criticism against Miles and his staff is a call for firing him.
Really, are you that dense?

You said
Those 2 don't really match up. You need to look up what the term checks and balances means..........

And to clarify, I am not one who never criticizes coaches. When there is a need to criticize, I'll be the first to yell it out. Yes, we were outcoached in Gainesville. Yes, we need to blitz more. Yes, we should've used Chad Jones over Harvin because of pure athletic ability. Yes, we need to do something with this co-defensive coordinator thing.
I can see all of that, and I'm sure you can too. But to think that you see things that Les Miles doesn't? That's almost comical.
Take your Einstein self back to your Mensa puzzles, and leave the football to the football coaches.

I know what the terms mean. I don't feel the need to go back and edit my first (quickly typed) post when I can elaborate in another (when I have time).
