I know there will be people who come out and say they have listening to him for years, but being born and raised in Louisiana for some reason this guy escaped my ears until recently.

I have a Pandora station, for another underrated artist Frankie Miller, setup that plays a couple of songs by Gatemouth, and both songs just so happen to be on the same album.

I will post a youtube link to the whole album, but i have been going through everything he has and I must say, if you like zydeco, blues, jazz, R&B, or anything worth a shite please take 40 minutes out of your time and at least listen to this album. This album is like Louisiana Zydeco but will a fiddle front and center. It is unreal!!

You will then find more of the blues and jazz stuff down the road with other albums either on Amazon Prime or You Tube.

Keith Spera wrote about him in his book Groove Interrupted. Joe Krown played with him for 14 years and has some stories (the ones I have heard mostly involved guns and weed)

He was great live. The last time I saw him (shortly before he died) he was hooked up to an oxygen bottle. I've always had a lot of respect for that. He didn't let age or health get in the way of what he wanted to do.

Born in Louisiana but raised in the Texas side. One of my favorites. I saw him live countless times.

I saw him at a club one time and he used to sell his own brand of tobacco at the merch table.

That was my favorite lineup. Joe Krown on keys, Eric Demmer on Sax, Floyd on Bass, and David Peters on drums.

I see Demmer in the Houston area playing gigs here and there.

I'm familiar with him mostly because of his song Monroe, Louisiana is a beer-drinking town.

I hear him more as country than blues. And his son was the long-time drummer for David Allen Coe.
