ZH: Gazprom Casts Doubt On Reopening NS1
Life savings bet that they don't reopen NS1 until the turbine is in place and I'm sure something else will be found to reduce or close NS1 by then.
The Euro gonna be looking spicy.

"does not possess any documents that would enable Siemens to get the gas turbine engine... out of Canada."

It added that "in these circumstances, it appears impossible to reach an objective conclusion on further developments regarding the safe operation" of a compressor station at the Russian end of the pipeline.

But pretty please keep our energy coming”

How I do enjoy watching Europe implode due to their woke policies.
Maybe they should go suck up to Putin like Biden is sucking up to the Arabs.

What makes this even more hilarious is that Trudeau already caved on the sanctions and gave Siemens a 2 year exemption so they can repair and return the turbine, but Gazprom is still taunting the Germans by playing dumb and saying "We haven't seen any paperwork for that, our hands are tied, nothing we can do"
Siemens is also a German company but the crucial component they are repairing "has been held up in Canada at the Siemens Energy facility in Montreal which is the only place in the world capable of servicing and repairing it."
So all of Germany is relying on this Russian pipeline to power their country, and the part needed to fix that Russian pipeline is being repaired by a German company, but they decided to put the only facility that can fix it in Canada, who tried to talk tough to Russia because Russia did something to Ukraine, but Canada caved on their toughness but Russia is still not going to open the pipeline because they are mad that Germany and all its neighbors have also been talking tough about what Russia did to Ukraine...
It's almost like globalization and offshoring critical infrastructure to foreign nations is a bad idea...
Meanwhile Zelensky is pouting because he hasn't figured out that he and his country are just a pawn for the big boys to play monkey in the middle with
Bruh... if Germany wants the part, Canada doesn't give a shite what you want, they're giving up the part. Sanctions are nice for virtue signaling but the second they hurt the "important countries," you're getting thrown under the bus. Sorry you didn't know how this works.

The Zelensky government in Ukraine has lately been lobbying hard for Trudeau to maintain a strict line against circumventing the sanctions, apparently to no avail.

They should embrace this hurdle and it’s acceleration of their clean energy transition

What would be some good European stocks to short?

By law, German storage facilities must be 80% full by the first of October and 90% full by the beginning of November. However, it is highly unlikely that reserves will meet those levels. At the moment, they are only about 65% full, which is not enough to secure a consistent supply throughout the winter. Indeed, it is likely that the Bundestag, Germany's federal parliament, will soon debate who will get the priority for gas deliveries.
Meanwhile, the EU Commission in Brussels is expecting Russia to completely stop gas supplies to Europe before the end of the year. A draft emergency plan, therefore, provides for public and commercial buildings to be heated only to a maximum of 19 degrees Celsius (66 degrees Fahrenheit) from the fall.

Even the liberals that run countries more liberal than America, understand that you first have to take care of your own citizens.
It's cray how our US liberals don't understand this.
