I live in the BR area, I don't have a membership anywhere, and I'm looking to join a simple league. I don't mind traveling to different courses within reason.
I'm currently around a 15-16 hdcp according to my Golf Pad app.
Any suggestions would be great. I've heard about Bayou Bogies, but was wondering if there were any others out there you guys may know about. Thanks. I'm 47 if that info is relevant.

Join a club and play in their games. Or sign up for Spark.

I'm in Bayou Bogies. This is my 3rd year but I'm good friends with about a dozen or so people who are in it. It's $35 a year and $10 at each monthly tournament. We get some decent rates at the courses we play.
That said, a lot of us now play the bare minimum of events to qualify for the club championship. They scheduled the same number of tournaments in LA (Oak Harbor/Stonebridge) as they did in Hattiesburg (Timberton/Shadow Ridge).

Amateur Golf Tour (South Louisiana)
Play in groups according to your handicap
Play some of the better courses in & around LA
A friend of mine did this years back and said it was fun. It's hard to do with small kids and having family activities going on.
I would love to get in one around the Lafayette/New Iberia area. I would like to get back to playing golf on the weekends.

I met the guy that runs it last Fall. Really nice guy and seemed very vested in making sure it was well ran.

There's a few groups in New Iberia at Cane Row and a few other at VC, Muni and the Wetlands as well.
The poster could also look into joining that Eagle Am tour. I know a few guys that play in that and they seem to like it.
