Taking the family to SF for a few days. Was going to stay at the Marriott near fishermen’s wharf but saw an interedting Airbnb in Richmond area.

Anyone familiar with that area? We just want to be in a safe area and not in high homeless area (hence staring away from union square area).

Any insight on Richmond would be appreciated! Thanks!

Richmond was a trashy place when I lived in Walnut Creek 20 years ago.

Your chance of being a victim of either property or violent crime is 1 in 22.

I lived in SF until 2015. Would go to Oakland for some restaurants or to see friends. Would not frick with Richmond.

Sorry guys, I do not mean Richmond as in the city near Oakland, but the neighborhood in SF (ie between Golden Gate Park and Presidio park)

The Richmond is nice, close to Golden Gate Park and the Golden Gate Bridge. Lands end is also around there. Downside is that it can take a long time to get anywhere cause of the traffic, depending on where you are trying to go.

its nice. Spent a few days in SF a few months ago and didn’t see any druggies on the streets around that area.

Will be in SF at the end of the month.

Looking to possibly stay slightly north of Union Square...

Is that safe enough?

Seems like that Nob Hill area isn't too bad, I think we're looking at between those 2 areas...

Really nice area, easily walkable to Golden Gate Park, and good restaurants. Been awhile since I've been there but some people claim the Chinese Market in Richmond is as good or better than what you find down the street in Chinatown.

Clement St has some of the best Asian food you will find anywhere in the US.
